Taking the 21st annual symposium further, IARSAF-IITA, went on a field trip to Akinyele LGA in Oyo State and Ikenne Local Government Area (LGA) in Ogun State, to train and disseminate IITA’s research solutions and provide technical support to local farmers, on 19 April 2018.
The meeting tagged “Framers’ Clinic Day” was attended by more than 110 farmers from each of the locations, with the objective to discuss some of the challenges faced by them and proffer long lasting solutions to their problems. This was borne out of the need to ensure that fellows’ research works align with the refreshed strategy of transforming African agriculture by taking breakthroughs to further impact household farmers in these communities.
